Time spent caring for tackle and putting everything in its place is a job for someone else. While I was doing that I could be fishing!The art of being a successful lazy blighter is to be organised, so the mess which is my reel collection box is only a mess to other people. I know where everything is and I can see at a glance which spool fits which reel.So can most other anglers.It’s the line we lose track of. When did I put that line on that spool? Is it 12lb or 15lb? Is that the dodgy stuff I was using that I meant to throw away and never did – or is it that really good stuff I spooled up last month? Doh!There is an easy answer to cope with these questions. Whenever you spool-up a fresh batch of line have some sticky labels handy. On the label put the date, breaking strain and, if there is room, the name of the line. Stick the label to the inside of the spool where the weather can’t get at it and you’re in business.
