com and I’ll forward details to you

The new season seems to have taken ages to come around this time but the wait has been worth it judging by returns so far from my local River Severn. There have been lots of barbel and chub caught on opening day and the river is in fine trim. If you’ve never been to the Severn my advice would be to give it a try this summer. There are lots of great swims to try and some good places to stay for a short break. I will be doing a limited amount of coaching days on the river this season for one to three anglers so if you are interested e-mail me at daveharrell2@aol.com and I’ll forward details to you. Last weekend I enjoyed two very rewarding matches at Earlswood Lakes. On Saturday I drew peg 68 on the natural bank of the Windmill Lake and fished feeder and bomb with chopped worm and caster for 43.1.0 and second place. On Sunday I went one better with top spot from peg 56 on the dam wall. When I drew the peg I didn’t fancy it to win at all as I’d been on the same peg the previous Sunday and only managed fifteen pounds from it. This time I fished further out at a distance of around forty-five yards and won with 34.6.0 of quality bream. I’m enjoying Earlswood so much right now that it is a bit of a wrench to leave it and go onto the river. Having said that I reckon I’ve got some exciting Severn matches to look forward to as well in the coming months.

This week I’ve got several sessions and matches lined up on the river. I’ll let you know how they went next week.
