Anglers concerned about the long

Anglers concerned about the long-term future of our sport can make their feelings felt by adding their signatures to an on-line petition. The petition is aimed at making sure the Government, and selected MP’s, are made aware that anglers will politically fight for the continued right to fish and are the main eyes, ears and instigators of conservation on our rivers, lakes and seas. The aim is to allow the petition to gain as many signatures as possible prior to the forthcoming General Election. It will then be sent, via e-mail, to No 10 Downing Street, with hard copies printed off and forwarded to selected MP’s. This is an important issue in the light of ever increasing anti-angling literature and action. Those in power need continual reminders that anglers can and will be a powerful political force, and there is no better time to push this issue than when politicians are seeking votes.

The petition is available for all anglers from coarse, game and sea disciplines to sign on Mike Thrussell’s website www.sea-fishing.com.
