The Fishing
The lakes are stocked with Brown & Rainbow Trout and Tavistock Fishery has held the ‘British Record’ for the largest cultivated Rainbow Trout at 30lb 12 oz (caught by Tony Flower from Newquay on Yellow Cat’s Whisker). The record Rainbow for the 2000 season was 26lb 10oz.
The record Brown Trout at the time of printing stands at 14 lb by Alf Maynard from Weston with a green skipper.
There is an Office and Tackle Shopsituated next to the lakes with somebody at hand to provide the angler with any assistance he or she might require. Including Fishing Permits, Gift Vouchers available, Trout Fly Rods, Fly Reels, Fly Lines, Fly Fishing Waistcoats, Landing Nets, Tackle Bags, Fly Boxes, Priests, Backing Line, Leader Line, Spare Spools, Freezer Bags, Fly Tying Kits, Flies etc.
