Introducing the fly fishing destination for the New Millennium: Let Hunt Extraordinaire introduce you to that corner of the world that is fast becoming the ultimate fly fisher’s destination – Southern Africa.

The Southern African sub-continent offers an unmatched wilderness experience. The natural beauty of the region is surpassed only by the diversity of the game fish teaming in its unspoiled waters. From the world-renowned Tiger fish, named after the canine-like jaws and teeth, of the Zambezi River, to the many species of saltwater fish found off the coast of Mozambique. Only the most adventurous travellers have cast their fly towards these highly predatory waters

South Africa also has species to offer that are more familiar to the overseas traveller. Although not indigenous, Rainbow and Brown Trout have been resident for a century. Remote high country streams and Stillwater offer fishing for trout that often exceed SIX pounds. Trout is the main species sought on fly in this country with as is true for most countries with cool, clear water and were originally brought from Scotland and North America.

The small mouth Yellow fish, arguably South Africa’s premier game fish, is pursued before and during the summer rains (October to February). This fish, found in fast moving water, feeds on small insects and crustaceans and fights harder than most trout worldwide. The Yellow fish is encountered primarily in the Vaal and Orange River systems, South Africa’s primary watercourses. These fish are caught on ultra light tippets and tiny dry flies in a handful of high lying still waters … nail biting stuff.

We are the first operators to bring these authentic African fly-fishing experiences within grasp of the adventurous traveller via a professional infrastructure with experienced guides and staff.
