Northwest Fishing Guides, located in the shadow of the Rockie Mountains at Terrace, British Columbia, is owned and run by Noel Gyger, one of the worlds leading guides and experts in fishing for specimen trout and salmon. In the past they have featured on John Barrett's 'fly fishing world', "Fishing the West" with Larry Schoenborn and TSN's "Canadian Sportfishing". They also provide weekly fishing reports for TFN (The Fishing Network).

They have been guiding angling guests in "first class" professional style, from around the world, for approximately 15 years catering for both conventional and fly fishermen. They are licensed to guide approximately 30 rivers, lakes and streams in northwest British Columbia for Steelhead, five species of Salmon plus local Trout and Dolly Varden Char. Most guiding takes place on the Skeena, Nass and the Kitimat rivers and their tributaries. They are also able to guide in Saltwater for Salmon, Halibut, Cod, Snapper and Crab out of Prince Rupert. To make this possible they have five 19 foot drift-boats, three jet-drive river boats and one ocean vessel.

Northwest Fishing Guides specialise in targeting several species including Chinook Salmon which average around 40lb in the Skeena River (which produced the current world record) and 30lb in the Kalum River (which has produced fish to 85lb). They also target Coho Salmon, which average 10 - 12lb (20 - 25lb in the Autumn) and Steelhead which average 12 - 14lb, though some weigh more than 25lb. The lodge records currently stand at 99 _ lb for Chinook Salmon, 27lb for Coho Salmon and 32lb for Steelhead, making them one of the most successful operators in their field.

This very exclusive and special trip is planned for 1 week between the 18th and 24th August 2002, with an option to extend a further 3 days or 1 week upon request. This is the prime time of year to fish this region with excellent runs of all species and a large variety of rivers to choose from.
